Mike Daube is Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, where he was Professor of Health Policy and Director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute. Before this he was Director General of Health for Western Australia and Chair of the Australian National Public Health Partnership. He has held many senior positions in government, with further roles including President of the Public Health Association of Australia, President of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, co-chair of the National Alliance for Action on Alcohol, Chair of the Tobacco Expert Committee that recommended plain packaging and other measures, and many other boards and committees. He has been active nationally and internationally in health policy, tobacco control, alcohol, gambling and other areas in public health for over 50 years. Among other awards, he is an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO), and was the 2018 Western Australian of the Year. He is Chair of the Editorial Board for Health Promotion International.
