Bio
Paula Ortiz is a certified public translator, scientific-literary translator, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Universidad del Salvador (USAL). She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the joint International Program between Universidad del Salvador and the Universidad de Deusto (Spain). She earned a PhD in Educational Science from Universidad del Salvador and currently serves as Director of the School of Modern Languages at the same university. She has been a faculty member at USAL since 1992, specializing in English Phonetics and Diction. At present, she holds the professorships in English Phonetics and Phonology at the School of Modern Languages.
She has specialized in higher education and university management. She served as academic collaborator, Secretary of Development, and Vice-President for Research and Development at Universidad del Salvador for 22 years, until February 2015. Currently, she leads the TECSAL-USAL Technological Development Program and manages the projects of Fundación TECSAL (USAL’s Technological Linkage Unit), related to outreach and training activities across the university. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Fundación TECSAL. She is a Full Member of the Argentine Academy of Arts and Communication Sciences.
She is a member of the Executive Academic Committee of the “Dermot Keogh” Extracurricular Chair of Irish Studies at USAL and a board member of the Southern Irish Studies Association (AEIS), a non-profit association.
