Senior Mathematics Teacher and Pedagogy Coach, Hymba Yumba Independent School, Brisbane
Suzanne’s career as a mathematics educator spans more than 40 years, during which she has worked in a wide variety of schools in Victoria and Queensland, and as a Principal Education Officer with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA).
Suzanne’s many years of experience as a classroom teacher, Curriculum Leader, Head of Department, Year Level Coordinator, and Pedagogy Coach, together with the expert curriculum and pedagogical knowledge she developed while working at the QCAA on the General Mathematics General Senior Syllabus (2019) make her uniquely qualified to provide teachers and students with practical support and advice when transitioning to the new Australian Curriculum 9.0.

In addition to these skills and experience, Suzanne is also a regular presenter for the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers (QAMT), the Queensland Education Leadership Institute (QELi) and the Science of Teaching and Learning Australia conferences (SoTLA) on topics such as assessment, collaborative problem-solving and in the middle-years, and success in senior years.

In 2023, Suzanne accepted a position as Senior Mathematics Teacher and Pedagogy Coach at Hymba Yumba Independent School in Springfield; an innovative school committed to the traditions of Indigenous culture, spirituality and identity.
