(11:00-12:30 CST) - Research suggests that simply showing students videos does little to help them learn. This session will share up-to-date approaches for effectively using video to teach English. It will propose a three-step framework for integrating video into language lessons and emphasize techniques for engaging students through interaction with multimedia content, leading to deep retention of language knowledge and skills. Within this framework, the presenter will demonstrate how to use various video types to develop language-specific and broader informational skills that prepare students for meaningful participation in today’s multimodal communication environment.
