    ________________
(16:00-17:30 CST) - Language Assessment Literacy (LAL) is an increasingly important area of teacher training in the global EFL community (Coombe et al., 2020). As part of this, there is a growing expectation for teachers to develop a range of knowledge and skills in various aspects of language assessment to support learning in their classrooms. One of the core components of LAL is assessment for learning, which differs in practice and purpose from the more traditional approach known as assessment of learning. In this webinar, I will discuss the concept of LAL and consider how teachers can use it to improve their ability to support students through assessment for learning. In doing so, I will draw on the Oxford Test of English and the Oxford Placement Test as examples of high-quality assessments that can be used to help teachers make informed decisions about their teaching. Participants will be encouraged to engage through a variety of questions in the group chat and a 10-minute reflective activity in which they will be asked to critically evaluate a language test from their own professional contexts.
