    In early childhood education, preparing very young learners for school is crucial in setting a strong foundation for lifelong language development. This session highlights the importance of early literacy, emphasizing how early exposure to language and reading fosters cognitive, social, and academic growth.

    In this session, Yumi will walk you through the characteristics of very young learners, discussing their developmental traits, learning styles, and the role of engagement in their language acquisition. Understanding these characteristics allows educators to create effective and enjoyable learning experiences. Using examples from Toy Team / Toy Team Plus, Oxford University Press preschool program for Young Leaners of English, she will demonstrate how play-based learning, songs, storytelling, and movement-based tasks can develop the confidence and skills Young Learners need for their educational journey.
