Most real-life tasks involve mixing various language skills at high speed and in different combinations. For example, think about what you need to do when you book a restaurant table for a meal with friends; type some messages to see who is available, maybe read some restaurant reviews and menus, then phone one or two friends to discuss options before making a reservation.
In recognition of this, and to prepare students for authentic language use, the integrated skills approach requires students to use a combination of two or more skills to complete a task. In this session we will discuss key ideas and components of the integrated skills approach, showing teachers how they can combine skills to complement each other and make language learning more effective. We will explore and experience practical classroom ideas for skills integration that teachers can adapt and use in their day-to-day teaching with Tiếng Anh 11 Friends Global.
