Phonics forms an integral part in children's journey to reading. Our students' experience of learning phonics greatly influences their ability and motivation to read. This makes our role, as teachers, critical and makes it imperative that we do things right and do them well. Phonics is a systematic way of teaching the building blocks of the English language. It allows language learners to recognize and associate sounds with the letters that represent them. As phonics skills increase, so does the learners' ability to read and write.

In our session, we will focus on the phonics learning process with our primary and young language learners. We will introduce and describe different stages of learning Phonics while demonstrating supporting activities for each step.
